Passion to Inspire Competition



What a fantastic food feast that was produced by the students at this year’s Final of “ A Passion to Inspire “ – well done to all students, lecturers and Mentors.


A massive thank you to Cambridge Regional College for hosting the event , Joan, Tina and everybody in the department and a special mention to those students that gave up their time to be runners and support all the competitors – very much appreciated !


Ben Whitbread a Catering Student at CRC is a budding Photographer and  worked with the judges taking photographs all day , thank you ( these will be e-mailed to  all colleges, judges and  Partners , please contact me if you wish to added )

Best Dish: Thyme Panna cotta Cambridge regional College – PRIZE: Entry into the very exclusive 365 Cookbook , Picture of Dish, recipe and Team 


Best Omelette: City College Norwich – PRIZE: A Very Special Day at Dingley Dell Pig Farm with Mark Hayward 


Best Cocktail:  Bella Rossa  Suffolk New College – PRIZE: Chocolate Demo at CRC with Callebaut Chocolate and Gary Hunter ( for her whole team + Lecturer ) 


Best Front of House – Daniela Tanase Colchester Institute – PRIZE: work at Hotel Felix for a day, overnight accommodation at hotel then lunch at Alimentum ( for 2 people)


Winners : City College Norwich - Ellie Horton ( FOH ), Tom Bunting  and  Joe Brackenbury ( Both Kitchen ) 


PRIZE’s : Steelite Winners Plate, Skills for Chefs / Service Conference ( )  and a day working with Mark Poynton at Restaurant Alimentum , then a 10 course  Tasting menu with Champagne and a flight of wine  for the whole  team and the lecturer.
